Visiting Museums and Monuments in Almería and Granada

Art, archeology, history, literature... Find out how to make the most of the museums using discount tickets and vouchers.
Tourist Cards

The Bono Turístico city pass is valid for seven days and entitles the visitor to discounts on ticket prices, hotel accommodation, restaurants and public transport. It allows direct access to one of the eleven main museums and monuments in Granada, including the Alhambra and the Generalife gardens. Nine free trips on any city bus and one ticket for the Granada tour bus (valid for 24 hours) are also included. The city pass is sold at the Alhambra, Capilla Real Ticket Office and Caja Granada.

Discounted Entry
  • Many museums and monuments allow free entry to EU citizens with identification. The museums included are Museo de Almería, Museo Arqueológico y Etnológico de Granada and Museo de los Tiros de Granada. This policy also applies at the Alcazaba
  • Entrance to the Museo de La Alhambra is free
  • The Almería Museum Art Centre offers reduced admission to Youth Card holders, students, children and Old Age Pensioners. Children under seven years of age are not permitted inside the museum

Alhambra Museum

Items from the Alhambra and other archaeological excavation sites are housed in this museum. It is part of the Patronage of the Alhambra and Generalife.

Almería Museum Art Centre

A municipal museum which exhibits contemporary artworks.

Archaeological and Ethnological Museum of Granada

This museum and library display a collection of artefacts from various ancient civilisations in Granada, including prehistoric, Tartessian, Phoenician and Iberian societies. It also has a library specialising in archaeology, prehistory, ancient history and museology.

House Museum of Los Tiros

A local history museum with landscape, orientalism, travel, industrial arts and 19th century manners and customs exhibitions.

Monuments

The Alhambra

One of the most popular monuments in Spain, the Alhambra was inhabited by kings of the Nasrid dynasty in the 13th century. It is divided into the Nasrid palaces, the Alcazaba military zone, the Medina city and the Generalife. There are various tickets to access different areas of the Alhambra. It is recommended that visitors purchase tickets in advance.

The Alcazaba

This Arabic citadel was constructed in the 10th century by order of Abd al-Rahman III.
