Bus Services in Almería and Granada

Buses in Almería and Granada are operated by private companies. The main bus company is Alsina Graells Sur.

Main Suburban and Interurban Operators

Alsina Graells Sur buses operate between various towns in Andalucía and between Andalucía and other Spanish regions. They offer more than 260 routes. Tickets are sold at numerous bus stations in the Provinces of Granada and Almería. Discounted bus fares for large families and return travellers are available as well as travel cards, special student passes and worker cards.

Autedia-Maestra provides bus transport around the main cities of Almería, Granada and Jaén.

Surbus provides bus travel across Almería. It has summer, winter, tourist and special transport services. Surbus offers discount tickets for retired people and students, special passes (billetes especiales) for events and fairs and monthly cards (tarjeta mensual). Many of these are sold at the sales desk at Avenida Federico García Lorca, except special tickets and student monthly discount tickets. Passes for pensioners can be purchased at the Almeria Ayuntamiento (town hall). Special tickets can be bought on board and student monthly 10 free-use tickets (tarjeta mensual estudiantes 10 libre uso) are sold at the Surbus office.

Autocares Baraza provides a bus service between Vera and Almería and Mojácar and Granada.

Other Routes

Autocares Bonal manages the route from Granada to Sierra Nevada Ski Station. Buses run on a seasonal timetable and more are provided at the height of the ski season.

Metro

In Granada, work is in progress to build a 15.5 Km-long metro network for the Granada tram. There is no metro system in Almería.
